Joan Walsh Obituary
Age 73, of Elkton, MD, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Joan was born January 12, 1938 in Camden, NJ. Joan was a wonderful loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.
She retired from Chrysler corporation in 1992 after twenty years of service. She was also a volunteer for Junior Achievement and Delaware Special Olympics.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Thompson, stepfather, Hank Thompson, brothers, Paul Whitaker and Frank Thompson.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia McKinney and her husband, Walter of Frederica, DE, Joan Elaine Walsh and Bernadette Elizabeth Walsh of Elkton, MD, her brother, Thomas Thompson and his family of Laguna Nigel, CA.
In addition, she is survived by her honorary grandchildren, Kyle, Matt, EJ, Caitlin, Josh, Jon, Jared, Kristin and Ashley and last but not least her granddogs Dutch, Bella and Ginger.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 11 am at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, where friends may visit with the family from 9-11 am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. To send condolences,
