JoAnn Tidwell Obituary
Hockessin - Mrs. JoAnn M. Tidwell affectionally known as "Bams", age 88, of Wilmington, Delaware died peacefully with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side on Monday, March 15, 2021. Born in Wilmington, DE on August 14, 1932, JoAnn graduated from Wilmington High School in 1950. A devout Catholic, JoAnn was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was a dedicated volunteer for the annual Italian Festival since its inception and held a seat on the Steering Committee while working with the Chairman at that time, Anthony Latina. She was also a lifelong member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She also volunteered in the cafeteria at St. Anthony of Padua Grade School and Padua Academy. JoAnn was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Edward L. Tidwell, Jr. and her grandson, Jason Edward Kee. She was the daughter of the late Anna Greggo and Louis Ruggerio, Sr. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was predeceased by her siblings; Dorothy Baldo, Lorraine Ferguson, Rose Cammock, Louis Ruggerio, Jr. and Ann Mason.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lynn Marie Kee and her husband Terry, siblings Evelyn Tidwell and Nicholas Ruggerio (Renee). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Carpe VITA Home Care, especially her aide, Lori for the exceptional care of JoAnn and the nursing staff of Christiana Care HomeHealth, Vicky and Barbara and her Physical Therapist, Julie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 19th, 2021 at 1pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & DuPont St. Calling hours are also Friday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Corleto Latina Family Center 807 N. Union St. Wilmington, DE. 19805. Interment will be private following Mass in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 or St. Anthony of Padua Grade School, 1715 W. 9th Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. To send an online condolence please visit corletolatinafuneralhome.com

Our deepest sympathy to Joann's entire family. She was a very classy lady always with a smile and a joke and or a comment which always left you laughing.The devotion she and daughter Lynn shared was absolutely amazing. She will truely be missed by all. Rest in Peace my friend as you join your many family members in heaven.

So very sorry to hear about your mom. She was the anchor for your family and St Anthony´s community. I remember everything she did for my mom when we were totally lost. I just found out about her passing about an hour ago as we haven´t gotten the paper in years. Please take comfort in knowing what a great and loving person she was

When I look at Joanne I see a vibrant lady, that smile and a hint of mischief in her eyes. She had a big heart and spread it around to all who needed a lift. That is how I will always remember her.You two were the most devoted son and daughter anyone could ask for.
