Johanna Latina Obituary
Johanna A. "Jennie" Latina, age 87, wife of the late Joseph Latina of Wilmington passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 11, 2011.
Jennie's early years were spent as a fixture at her father's sub shop "Charlie and Sons" located at 8th & Madison Sts and later at 10th & DuPont Sts. Her culinary skills lead her to a 37 year career at the Original Del Rose Restaurant on Delaware Avenue. After retiring, she spent her later years enjoying precious moments with her beloved children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her dog "Carmie".
She is survived by her sons Philip & Joseph II (Agata) and her daughter Donna Nash (Bill Flowers), her precious grandchildren Jenna, Gregory and Joseph III and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Philip, Carmen and Joseph and sister, Felicia "Mae".
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & DuPont St., Wilm. at 9 am. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Corleto-Latina Family Center, 807 N. Union St. Entombment will follow Mass in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family encourages you to consider a contribution to St. Edmonds Academy 2120 Veal Road Wilmington, DE 19810.

All, Thank you for your condolences and kind words of sympathy. She truly was and is an angel. She was a trooper until the end of her short illness. We miss her terribly but are consoled by the belief that she has been reunited with our Dad and the rest of her family after many years.

Jennie was the sweetest and most genuine woman. I remember her to be a godly Mother to Joey, Philip and Donna. Each of their personalities have Jenny written in them. A beautiful legacy for sure.

I used to work at DelRose with Jennie.Never saw a harder worker and proud Mother.I have found memories of Jennie.Always there to help you out..be it work or family. A beautiful lady inside and out..Heaven has a new Angel..God Bless ..

I hold such fond memories of your mother. Although I haven't seen Jennie often since my parents' passing, I thought of her frequently. You were blessed with an angel of a mother as was myself and my siblings. Prayers go out for her soul but I know she is already in heaven.

Philip, Joey and Donna, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. I know what a close family you are and that life will never be the same. Aunt Jennie was a sweet and wonderful woman and I was blessed to have spent alot of my teen years at your house w/Aunt Jennie's love, good cooking and hospitality. Donna, Joey, Philip and family..you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I sing for funerals in our Church over here in Australia, and I have a song that I keep reserved for people who are very special to me...I want to share the words with you all, and I hope that you find a little comfort in them..........
