John P. Hysock

John P. Hysock, 69, of Milton, DE, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at home, after a hard-fought eight year battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 29, 1946 in Ashland, PA to Jack A. and Eleanor (Boxer) Lee, and later adopted by his stepfather Joseph Hysock, from whom he took his surname.

John was raised in Girardville, PA where he graduated from Ashland Area High School in 1963. He then joined the U.S. Marines, for which he proudly served during the Vietnam War. He later moved to Elkton, MD where he met his wife, Ginny (Stewart) and they married in 1982. John and Ginny later lived in Caravel Woods in Bear, DE, to be closer to their employment with the E.I. DuPont Company. John worked in several locations with DuPont for the Medical Products and Permasep Divisions. John and Ginny retired to Lewes, DE in 2005, where John enjoyed crabbing, fishing and hanging out with the guys in West Bay Park.

John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Virginia Lee (Stewart) Hysock of Milton; four sons: Gregory and Paul Hysock and Brian and Joshua Foraker; a daughter: Robin Warwick; two sisters JoEllen Ferenc (Joseph) and Mary Gasperetti (James) of Mt. Carmel, PA; one brother Peter Hysock (Beverly) of Ashland, PA; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held for John on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 am.

The family wishes to thank those at the Tunnell Cancer Center, Beebe Hospital and Delaware Hospice for their caring support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John's name to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd, Milford, DE 19963 or to Delaware Hospice at 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
