Josephine "Josie" Chase Davison

AGE: 96 • New Castle

Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2015.

Josie was born in New Castle to the late Mary and Eugene Chase.

She worked at Bellanca Air, New Castle Defense Plant, Wilmington Fiber, and Kennards Department Store. Lastly her most important job was being a loving mother and great homemaker.

Josie was a lifelong citizen of New Castle. She was a member of the Immanuel Episcopal Church where she faithfully served in the alter guild for 55 years. Josie was the chairman of a Day in Old New Castle twice and worked in the event for over 62 years. She also greatly enjoyed participating in the local AARP groups. Josie's real passions were sewing beautiful clothing, cooking great dinners, and spending time in her garden. She also took great joy in traveling with her late husband, Hank, Their favorite destination was Wildwood, NJ.

Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Davison, of New Castle and sister, Boots and Francis Pollard.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Mary Jo Davison, of Newark; son, John (Jed) and Dale Davison, of Middletown; granddaughters, Katie Murphy and her husband, Justin, Jackie Zhou and her husband, Chang; sister, Alice C. Jacobs, of New Castle; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her four legged friend, Ziggy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Service for Josie at Immanuel Episcopal on the Green, 50 Market Street, New Castle, DE 19720, on Tues., May 12 at 11:00am. Friends may call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Mon., May 11 from 6:00-8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to the New Castle Public Library, 424 Delaware St., New Castle, or Immanuel Church, 100 Harmony St., New Castle.
