Josh Ogden Obituary

Josh M. Ogden

Our beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend, at age 29, got to go home to heaven on August 19, 2011. Aided by his Savior, Jesus Christ, he arrived and received his precious gift of eternal life.

Born and raised in Wilmington, Josh attended Thomas McKean High School where his athletic abilities were enjoyed on the Baseball, Wrestling, Soccer & Football teams. He excelled in Wrestling and earned a spot to go to the States. Josh's acting abilities also earned him a spot in "The Hagerty Antics" where there's a bear over there, where?!

Josh LOVED his family & friends, had a beautiful smile, beautiful eyes and a great laugh. We will miss him so much but for those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Savior we will see him again in Glory! Josh is survived by his parents, Mike and Joyce Sorowice; big brother and best friend Steve Ogden Jr.; sister Sarah Sorowice; brother Michael Sorowice Jr.; his maternal grandparents Juney & Betty Hagerty, paternal grandparents; father; tons of uncles, aunts and cousins and tons of friends, especially his brother/friend Jimmy Henry.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, August 24, from 5-7 pm at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808. Funeral Services will begin at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wilmington Christian School, 825 Loveville Rd., Hockessin, DE 19707 because he liked being Sarah and Michael's cool big brother.

I enjoyed having lunch with Josh on multiple occasions, and wished we could have continued with his fledgling discipleship for more personal growth. It is with bittersweetness that I will see everyone Wednesday evening at his service. I had hoped for a real deep liberty for him from the challenges he endured these last several years. However, I am very glad for the hope Jesus extended to Josh and to each and everyone of us. God bless you!

Josh had a heart of gold and he loved all around him so much. I know from the stories my son Ryan has told me about him playing ping pong and just having fun with the ones he was around. Josh will always be missed but we know he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
