Kenneth L. Pfeil

Wilmington - Kenneth Lawrence Pfeil, age 89, of Wilmington, DE died Monday, July 26, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Ken graduated from Tamaqua Area High School and served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had a 45-year career with Delmarva Power, starting as a laborer and working his way up to Power Plant Superintendent. Ken was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a board member at Luther Towers. In his spare time, he enjoyed following the Phillies, Red Sox, and Eagles, and could be seen at his kids' and grandkids' sporting events.

Ken was predeceased by his son Kenneth Pfeil, Jr, daughter Rita Pfeil, and granddaughter Coleen Pfeil. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Pfeil; son Glenn Pfeil and his wife Sue; grandchildren Kenny III (Caroline), Marc (Misty), Brett (Sarah), and Jonathan; as well as 8 great grandchildren, all of Wilmington.

A visitation will be Saturday, July 31 beginning at 11 am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809 with a memorial service at 12 noon. Interment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ken's name to St. Mark's.
