Levin Irving

Hutchison, Jr.

Levin Irving Hutchison Jr., age 85 of Smyrna, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Mr. Hutchison was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. He was the first Certified Diesel Mechanic in Delaware. Mr. Hutchison built his own boat and used it to fish for flounder in the Indian River. His wife Lorraine, who worked as a welder during WWII, used that skill to rivet his boat trailer he used to transport his boat. Mr. Hutchison excelled with his woodworking. He enjoyed bowling and making everyone he loved laugh.

Mr. Hutchison is survived by his son L. Irving Hutchison III and wife Carole; 4 daughters: Gail Beutler, Joyce Manwiller, Linda Brannock and husband Bob, Carol Burns and husband Curt; his sister-in-law Mary Hutchison; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Hutchison, brother Lewis Hutchison, sister Betty Eastburn, great grandchild Aiden Cahall, son-in-law Carl Manwiller, and his parents Irving and Clara Hutchison Sr.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna, DE 19977 from 10-11 am followed by a service in celebration of Mr. Hutchison's life at 11 am. Burial will be in White Clay Creek Cemetery, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE 19711. To express online condolences, please visit www.strano-feeley.com.
