Lucia Troisi, 77, of Wilmington, DE died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 17.
She was born in Bagnoli, Italy in 1931 and was the daughter of Angelo and Rosa Meloro. Her greatest pleasure was cooking and caring for her family and friends. She was married to her husband of 54 years, Felice Troisi in Paternopoli,, Italy on May 8, 1955.
Lucia is survived by her husband, Felice, and her 3 devoted children; Dr. Ernest Troisi and his wife Julie of Wilmington, Virginia Hardin of Wilmington, and Maria D'Andrea and her husband Dennis of Broomall, PA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Emily, Julian, and Olivia Troisi, and Daniel and Elena Hardin, her sister, Josephine Cautillo and her husband Emilio; her brothers, Aniello Meloro and his wife Frances, Angelo Meloro and his wife Madeline, John Meloro and his wife Irene; and many nieces and nephews.
The family is deeply grateful for the loving care and assistance provided for the past 15 months by many family members, friends, medical staff, and Compassionate Care Hospice.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 22, at 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N. Dupont St. Wilmington. Calling hours will be after 9:30 am in the church. Entombment will follow Mass at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 11 Independence Way, Newark, DE 19713.
