Luna Hartman Obituary
Age 4, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Luna was born in Newark on May 9, 2009, daughter of Donald B. Hartman and Tamara A. Sepulveda. She was a beautiful and charming little girl who loved singing, playing dress up (especially as a princess!), and wearing sparkly makeup. She also delighted in decorating her arms with many fun rub-on tattoos.
She loved spending time with her brothers, her extended family and friends, and her pet Yorkie puppy Star. She especially adored her mommy and her daddy, and will always be remembered as the precious apple of her daddy's eye.
Throughout her illness, Luna never stopped smiling her adorable smile and would often encourage family and friends with these brave words: "Stop crying. I'm OK." In her short life, she gently touched the lives of many people, inspiring them with her sweetness, her courage, and her love.
In addition to her devoted parents, Luna is survived by maternal grandparents, Adela and Alejandro Sepulveda of Chile; paternal grandmother, Roberta Boutilier of Wilmington; paternal grandfather, Brian Pitts of Wilmington; great grandmother, Gail Duff; brothers, Joshua A. Ortiz, Jordan R. Hartman, and Joel A. Ortiz; aunts, Alejandra Sepulveda and Ariell Sepulveda; uncles, Pablo Sepulveda, Jamie Hartman, Jamie Chandler, and Neil Chandler; great aunt, Monica Millar Prado; and cousin, Alejandra Lara, and her daughter, Kiara Banegas.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children, who were like her extended family.
A celebration of Luna's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 27th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Luna's memory may be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3519 Silverside Road, Suite 100, Wilmington, DE 19810; or to The B+ Foundation, 101 Rockland Circle, Wilmington, DE 19803.

It was truly an honor to have met Luna. Her smile just lit up the room. I met Luna when she came to Christiana for a test. We named our Angle fish after Luna. I am sending my deepest condolences to the family. She will be missed but not forgotten. Hugs and prayers are coming your way.

Don I met you at my Aunt Faith's funeral (your dad and my Aunt were married at one point) so I guess even still we are like family. My cousin Toni use to always post things about Luna and I had no idea you were her daddy. What a sweet baby girl..you and her mom are in my thoughts...in my prayers. I have no idea what it's like to lose a child but I do know what loss is like ...trust me..more so than I'd like to talk about. I did not know Luna but followed her on fb. And through the posts I saw the amazing love and strength that I have not ever seen. God Bless Don & Tamara who raised their little girl for 4 years and gave her all the love thy had in them. I did not know you or your family. But I am a Mother and a Grandmother so I understand what it means to love so deeply. I pray that God will comfort the parents and grandparents of this angel. I did not have the pleasure of meeting this young girl; but I do visit her grandma Bert every morning at Quinn's Cafe. We share stories because I have a 3 and 5 yr old daughters. The love this little girl has and how much life she has in her heart was shared through so many. She has touched my family without knowing. I know she will see those she touched again and she will have more stories to tell. Tears of sadness now for her going away so soon, but my heart knows she is an angel that will always be with her family.
