MABEL CASSIDY Obituary

Mabel J. Cassidy

Mabel Jeanette Archibald Cassidy, age 95, of Elkton, MD, died Thursday, November 16, 2006.

Mrs. Cassidy had been a teacher and retired as Vice Principal of Immaculate Conception School. A community volunteer and member of many organizations, she was selected as Elkton's Citizen of the Year in 1982.

Mrs. Cassidy was preceded in death by her husband, H.W.D. "Red" Cassidy; parents, George N. and Annie McDermott Archibald; and 11 siblings. Survivors include her son and his friend, James A. Cassidy, and Lucinda Lowe, of Channel Islands, CA; her daughters and sons-in-law, Gerald K. and Jane Anders, of Annapolis, MD, William B. and Lucy A. Cassidy Van Hoff, of Amityville, NY, and John E. Bronson and Susan A. Cassidy, of Pasadena, MD; and a grandson, Kempton B. Van Hoff, of Amityville, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Tuesday, November 21, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bow St., Elkton, MD. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 am, in the church chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Singerly Fire Company; of Immaculate Conception Church, both c/o HICKS HOME FOR FUNERALS, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.
