Matthew Janicki Obituary
New Castle - Matthew Z. Janicki, Jr. - age 53, of New Castle went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2018 after a long, hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Matt served in the Delaware Army National Guard for 28 years. He was employed as a Senior Application Support Specialist at State of Delaware. He found his greatest joy coaching his own children and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Marjorie; and his sister, Maura Romanik.
He leaves behind his "beautiful" wife of 27 years, Donna Jones Janicki; and the joys of his life, his children, Matthew III, Marissa, and Samuel; his sister, Monica Esterling (Bill); and brother, Martin (Shana); nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, June 12 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. The interment will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery immediately following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or pancan.org/donate

Donna, Sam, Marissa and Matt...I'm so sorry to hear about Matt's passing.
You were his life, his ultimate joy, and you are his legacy. He was immensely proud of you kids.
I will always remember the amazing talks we had on music; specifically RUSH, and "the kids".
Matt truly was one of the nicest, most caring, and honest people I've met in my lifetime; a self-less person of the utmost integrity. It was an honor knowing him.

My deepest condolences to the Janicki family. It is comforting to know that he is with Our Lord Jesus Christ. I worked with Matt at the State of Delaware. He was passionate about making sure things were done logically and correctly. I will cherish the many conversations I had with him. He will be dearly missed.

We are so sorry for your loss. Matt was a wonderful kind and always upbeat person. He had such a great smile that made anyone feel welcomed.
