Nicholas Scott Long, 32, of Middletown, DE passed away Saturday, October 4th at the Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10th at 12 Noon at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, DE 19709. Family and friends may call from 11-12 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to a savings fund for his son Nicholas S. Long, Jr. at Wells Fargo Bank.

You know I would there be if I could, but we will see each other again one day! You were always like my big brother growing up & were always there when I needed you. Even though we all grew up & went separate ways, the childhood memories will always remain. To all of Nick's Family & friends:
I have a very special place in my heart for this man that my family and I all so lovingly called "Cheeseburger." He grew up with my kids (the MacCord/Spoerl clan), hung out at our house & was ALWAYS smiling and happy; he had such a vibrant personality. He made me laugh whenever he was around. We were all very lucky to have known him. "Cheese" remained a close and loyal friend to my kids, right up to his passing. I know they are all feeling the pain of this loss very deeply, which as a Mother, just breaks my heart. I cannot even comprehend the pain his Mother, Father, wife and family are experiencing at this time. My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. I will keep you all in my prayers, and although we're all very sad that he's gone from this earth, I, for one, will rest assured knowing that we now have another Guardian Angel looking out for us from heaven above.
