Paul DiSabatino

Wilmington - After a long and rich life, Paul (Paulie D) went home to be with his loved ones and God on February 14, 2018.

Paul was born in Wilmington, DE in 1937, where he lived for 80 years. He went to St. Thomas Grade School and graduated Wilmington High School. Paul worked for many years in the family owned heavy construction companies "DiSabatinoBrothers", "DeBro", "PalDor". He married Dorothy Namotikawhile he was serving in the Army in 1961. They have one son Louis Jeffrey DiSabatino. After losing his wife of 45 years tocancer in 2007 he decided to retired at the age of 70 and did some traveling then at the age of 77 he decided to go back to work with "Christiana Excavating". He met Linda Mele in 2013 whom he loved to spend time traveling, playing cards, boat cruise or just staying home and relaxing.

Paul loved to cook, make lemon cello, traveling, going to the beach, long drives and boat cruises. He loved to be with his family and friends at parties, BBQ's, his son's theater productions or just at a gathering. He always made sure everyone enjoyed themselves when he was around. You would always find him offering someone a glass of wine, a drink or food. He truly loved life and cherished his family and friends.

He was an active member of the St. Antony's Club and the Piedmont Lodge, where he loved to go and socialize with his friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy DiSabatino, his father Benjamin DiSabatino, mother Adeline DiSabatino and brothers Benjamin, Louie, Frank, Alfred, Carlo, Pete, Michael and sisters Honey, Rosie Hamilton, Margaret Covelli-Disabatinoand Eleanor Disabatino. He is survived by his son Jeff DISabatino, his companion Linda Mele and by his sister Jennie Swain along with countless nieces and nephews and friends. He will be missed by Brian Miller and Jason Bowser whom he regarded as adopted sons. He will also be missed by his beloved grand dogs Cochise and Bojangles to whom he considered like his children.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity in his name.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont St. in Wilmington, DE., on Monday morning, February 19 at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Sunday evening, February 18 from 5 to 8 pm.

Paulie I feel like it was just yesterday we would dance around the club or Dude's together. Always the life of the party, and such a gentleman. Glad we got to catch up this year. Heaven gained an incredibly fun and sweet angel.
