Richard Kane Obituary
AGE: 66 • Hartly
Richard Kane, 66, of Hartly, Delaware passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 16, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara K. Ball and George T. Kane, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Margaret B. Kane; two children, son, Brent T. Kane (Kimberly) and daughter, Shannon E. Griffith (Joseph); 5 grandchildren; Wyatt, Garrett, Hunter, Amelia and Taryn.
He was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps and proudly served his nation in the Vietnam War. He retired as a chemical operator at DuPont after 41 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and shooting.
Services will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808 on Wednesday, July 23 at 1:00 PM where friends may call at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or Home of the Brave (www.homeofthebravefdn.org).

I only met Rick once, when I was at his wonderful sister Michele's home (she and Art lived in Seaford, DE at the time). He and Peg dropped by. I know Michele and Art are comforted by memories of Rick and Peg's visit with them in their adopted home town (New Orleans) just a few months ago. Thank you for your service, Rick. Rest in peace.
