Richard H. Stewart, Jr. Age 35, is missing and presumed dead following the terrorist attack on the New York World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Formerly from Wilmington, DE and Unionville, PA, Rich worked for Cantor-Fitzgerald in New York City for the past 8 years. Prior to that he was an associate of Lehman Brothers, New York City. Rich graduated from Upland Country Day School in Kennett Square, PA, in 1982. He entered The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ, and graduated in 1985 when he entered St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1989. Rich's school life was filled with an enthusiasm for Ice Hockey as he participated on the Varsity Teams of all 3 schools. His love of football, baseball, horse racing and golf combined with the love of art and American history made his life come alive. His love for sports could only be overshadowed by his love for his family and friends. Rich's faith throughout his life not only sustained him, but touched everyone he befriended throughout his life. Rich leaves behind his parents, Joan and Dick Stewart of Wilmington; a sister, Susan Stewart Tillier; her husband, Martin Tiller and Rich's only nephew, Benjamin Tiller, all residing in Warsaw, Poland. He also remains godfather to 3 children who he will continue to gently guide from above. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on September 28th, 2001, at 11 am in the Edith Memorial Chapel, The Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ. All those who wish to attend will be welcome. All those who cannot, the power of prayer will be felt and appreciated. In memory of Rich, an Ice Hockey Scholarship Fund has been established at The Lawrenceville School, PO Box 6125, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
