Robert Hullinger Obituary

Robert J. Hullinger, Jr.

AGE: 49 •

Rob passed away on April 11, 2016. He was the son of Robert J. Hullinger, Sr. and Dr. Peg Hullinger. Rob graduated from William Penn High School in 1983. His passion was medicine, and he enjoyed his career as a nurse in medical facilities in Delaware, Pennsylvania and California. The achievements that brought him the most pride were during his military service, where he also served in a medical capacity. He spent many years in the Air Force, served in Desert Storm, and earned medals for his service while proudly serving our country. Rob had a fun-loving spirit and an intelligence next to none. Together these allowed him to realize achievements like starting his own business and being a contestant on Family Feud. He also appreciated design and fashion and enjoyed dancing and boating. When Rob loved something, he gave it 100%.

Rob is survived by his parents, his brother Chris (Laura), 4 nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Rob is sorely missed.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 13 from 10:00-11:00 at St. Helena's Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00. Burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Delaware Humane Association at dehumane.org.

I just learned of Bob's passing. He changed my life. He was my best friend when he lived in Ft. Pierce, Fl. He took me to my senior prom because I didn't have a date. He lived with me and my parents for a time. We shared so many memories. He needed 3 full pages in my yearbook to write about our time together. I don't fly, but I flew from Florida to California to visit him. We went dancing all of the time. He had an energy and love of life that made me adore him from the first time I met him. I loved him so much, and my heart breaks. Prayers and love to his family and friends.

I just found out about Bob's passing. I graduated with him at William Penn and he was my favorite classmate! We enjoyed Mrs. Lewis' class together among many other things from school. I have many fond memories of Bob and will never forget him. My sincere condolences to his family.
