Age 77, of Odessa, FL, formerly of Kennett Square, PA and Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully while in the company of loved ones on Sunday, January 14, 2007, at Forest Glen in Newport Richey, FL.

While working in the Public Relations Department at DuPont in DE, Mr. Purinton obtained his doctorate in psychology. After 30 years of service, he retired and moved to FL.

He was the son of the late Francis and Vida Purinton. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Elaine; his sister, Elinor Weisberg: and brothers, David and Herbert, of ME; his 7 children, Robert Francis Purinton, and wife, Laura, of Aurora, CO, Katherine Anne Vaughn, of Midlothian, VA, Kenneth Blaisdell Purinton, and wife, Lisa, of West Grove, PA, Johanne Longfellow Baker, and husband, Rieland, of Mainsville, OH, Jeffrey Stephen Purinton, of Norman, OK, Andrew Vaughn Purinton, and wife, Karen, of Marietta, GA, and Holly Beth Chesser, and husband, Patrick, of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private family Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, January 16, in FL.
