Robert Ruby Obituary

Robert John Ruby, Sr

AGE: 85 • Newark, DE

Robert John Ruby Sr., 85, of Newark, DE passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 surrounded by family.

Robert was born in Upland, PA, on January 10, 1932, son of the late James and Edna Ruby. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served our country in the Korean War. Robert and his wife, Madeline, loved to travel around the country and throughout Europe. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time at his homes on Tangier Island, VA and Kitts Hummock, DE. Robert was an active member of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Stanton, DE for over 30 years where he delivered Meals on Wheels and worked in the Emmanuel Dining room.

Robert will always be remembered for his contagious sense of humor and infectious laugh, but the most important part of his life was his family. Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, March, 2, 2017 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd, Wilm., DE 19808.
