Robin Reaume Obituary

Robin Elizabeth Forbes Reaume

Wilmington, DE - Robin, age 53, passed away from ovarian cancer at the Christiana Hospital with family by her side.

She was born in Wilmington and graduated from Thomas McKean High School. She studied in the arts, worked as a charge back adjuster at the Bank of New York, a teacher's aide at John G. Leach School, Jack's Country store, Midas, Wawa, the Maids, and AC Moore.

She took pride in raising her daughters, all while battling Guillain-Barre (twice paralyzed), Sarcoidosis, Scleroderma, Renault's, Arthritis and Ovarian Cancer. ROBIN DID NOT let these rare and deadly diseases DEFINE her. She was a testament to LIVING and not giving up. She loved family gatherings, "Stitch & Bitch," camping, "Church of Little Progress," playing cards/games, and movies. She was extremely talented in the arts, loved sharing her knowledge of holistic remedies, singing, dancing, and traveling across the U.S. and Italy. She participated in the 5K Ovarian Cancer walk for the last 6 years.

She is predeceased by her parents, Donald J. Forbes Sr. and Sylvia Clark Forbes; Her grandmother, Mildred Forbes; and grandparents, Annie and E. A. Worrell Clark, Sr. Robin was extremely proud of her Forbes Scottish and Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape heritages.

She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Ritter (Daniel) and Jesse Reaume; son, Phillip Reaume III; ex-husband, Phillip Reaume Jr.; sister, Donna Forbes Valiante (Joseph); brother, Donald (Joe) Forbes, Jr. (Jennifer); uncles; aunts; Chance, Kaiju, Binx, Emma; and the many people, strangers, or patients she met and chatted with and left a deep impression on during her life. She followed in her mother's footsteps by acting as a foster mother to them. To her many friends she left behind with memories, she wanted to thank and acknowledge: Tracy, Charlie, Merry, Lisa, and Helen for their friendship.

Memorial services will be at Immanuel Church, 2414 Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilmington, 19806 on Saturday at 11am, where friends may call after 9:30 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Robin would like donations to be made in her honor to Cancer Research Institute of New York, 29 Broadway, New York, NY 10006. Online condolences may be made at www.mealeyfuneralhomes.com.
