Shirley Dunaway Obituary
She was a drama teacher at Little Rock Central High during the 1957 crisis and was happy to educate anybody who walked into her classroom. One of the Little Rock 9 once called her classroom a "Safe Haven." She was the first sponsor of Central's High Steppers. She was an aspiring actress before moving to St. Louis to become a full-time mom and part time Realtor. Louis and Mickey returned to Conway in 1987.
Lives still affected by her legacy are sister, Judith (George) Carabine of Tampa, and their children Hal and Dinah; husband Louis; her only son, Sharpe, daughter-in-law Angela; and grandchildren, Quint, Grace and London, all of Conway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elsie McGalin of Sun City Center, Florida.
Interment at 10 a.m. October 21, 2014, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.

My deepest condolences to the Dunaway Family. May you continue to find comfort from family and friends at this time of great sorrow. And may you find comfort in knowing that when God restores Paradise He will undo all causes of suffering(Psalms 37:11). Then our tears of sorrow will become tears of joy.
