Parag, Sr.
Stephen E. "Stringbean" Parag, Sr., age 57, of Delaware City, DE, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Christiana Hospital, Newark.
Stephen was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Steven Parag and Mary Jane (Wright) Dellorse. Stephen had been a truck driver for 25 years for the former Anchor Motor Freight, now Leaseway Auto Carriers. He was a member of many groups and organizations including: the Teamsters Local Union # 326, the Theatre Group "Gods Power and Light Co.", and the Everett Theatre Association, where he volunteered with the A.C.T. Group. Stephen was an active member of the Peniel United Methodist Church, where he had taught Sunday school for many years. Stephen also enjoyed woodworking.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Janet L. (Bower) Parag; sons, Stephen E. Parag, Jr., and his girlfriend, Mary Dale, Mark L. Parag and his wife, Lida, Matthew J. Parag and his girlfriend, Samantha Casper, Nicholas E. Parag and his girlfriend, Jill Petela; daughters, Andrea C. Ellingsworth and her husband, Howard and Tiffanie A. Parag and her boyfriend, Sean Space; brothers, William W. Parag and his fiancée, Debbie, David R. Parag, Sr. and his wife, Judy; sisters, Darlene H. Hitt and her husband, Allen, April M. Wells and her husband, Earl; a stepbrother, David Dellorse and his wife, Angel; grandchildren, Samantha C. and Howard L. Ellingsworth, Stephen E. Parag, III, Autumn A. Parag, Haydn T. Parag; mother-in-law, Mary Carol Michl; father-in-law, John R. Michl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Edward J. Parag.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 3, at 11 am, at the Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 E. Market Street, Newport. There will be visitation from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, September 2nd and again from 9:30-10:30 am on Wednesday, September 3rd at the church. Interment will be private,
