Stephen Sharp Obituary
Stephen G. Sharp, Sr., 89 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully, on January 8, 2017. Stephen was preceded in death by his daughter Carol A. Jewett, his brother Jack, and sister Janet. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Margaret (Carney) Sharp, his son Stephen G. Sharp, Jr; his son in-law Bruce L. Jewett, 2 granddaughters Kelly A. Jewett and Sara E. Jewett, all of Wilmington, his brother Robert Sharp, KY and many nieces and nephews. In 1945, Stephen graduated from Wilmington high school and enlisted in the Navy. He was a devoted volunteer for the St. Anthony's Italian Festival for over 40years and was one of St Anthony's first Eucharist Ministers. He loved the NJ shore, especially trips to Stone Harbor, NJ and was a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a comedian at heart, who spread laughter and joy to all.
A viewing will be held on Friday January 13 from 11:00am-12:00pm followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N. DuPont St. Wilmington, DE 19805. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church. To send messages of condolence visit www.mccreryandharra.com.
