Thomas A. "Tommy" Henry, Jr.

Middletown - Thomas A. Henry, Jr., "Tommy", age 50, of Middletown, DE passed away on May 22, 2021 after succumbing to a brief battle with cancer. Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of Morley (McMahon) Henry and the late Thomas A. Henry, Sr. He was a member of the Salesianum School class of 1988 and went on to study at the Automotive Training Center in Oxford, PA. Tommy began his career working with his father and brother at his family's business, Auto Collision Service. He later moved on to begin his own career as technician and manager at several different auto body shops.

Tommy loved to spend time going to Phillies games with his son, Shane, and Eagles games with his son, Jack. He was actively involved in Bear Babe Ruth and was looking forward to coaching this upcoming season. Tommy also played in the New Castle County softball league for many years where he made countless close and lifelong friends. He enjoyed offshore fishing and spending time on his pontoon boat on the Delaware back bays with his friends and family. Tommy loved his nieces and nephews and looked forward to supporting them in all of their extracurricular activities. Tommy will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all of those who had the opportunity to spend time with him.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Carolyn (Cross) Henry of Middletown, DE; his sons, Jack and Shane Henry of Middletown, DE; his mother, Morley Henry of Wilmington, DE; his brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Stacey Henry of Wilmington, DE; his sister and brothers-in-law, Susan and Larry Coyle of Wilmington, DE and Katie and Keith Ellis of Newark, DE; his mother and father-in-law, Beverly and Martin Cross; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Cross; his beloved dog, Sunny; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A viewing will be held on Friday May 28 from 10am to 12pm with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12pm at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 901 E Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Bear Babe Ruth, 1148 Pulaski Highway Suite, 107-200 Bear, Delaware 19701.
