Dr. Poore was Superintendent of Henry County Public Schools (Virginia) and I worked with him in the central office of the administration building. I always found him to be a fine and caring individual whose wit, personality and administrative skills will be missed greatly.

I knew Virgil when he was the school superintendent in Montgomery County Virginia and later worked with him in Henry County. He was a fine and gentle man who cared deeply for the children he served. Our profession was enhanced through his efforts.
