"Butch" Bowser, Jr.

Walter Robert "Butch" Bowser, Jr., age 66, of Newark, DE, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at his home with the love of his life, Patti, by his side.

Walter worked for the State of Delaware Highway Department from 1961 to 1982. He then worked for Handler Builders until his retirement in 1998. Walter enjoyed Country Gospel and Bluegrass music. He loved visiting the Pocono Mountains and the Williamsburg mountains in PA, and enjoyed fishing, wildlife, guns, motorcycles and chewing tobacco.

Walter is survived by his devoted companion and fiancée of 12 years, Patti McCann; his mother, Mary Bowser; a brother, John Bowser; 4 sisters: Charlotte Olkowski, Mary Lu Messenger, Betty McGinnis, and Nancy Finger. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter R. Bowser, Sr.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 2-3 pm followed by a service in celebration of Walter's life at 3 pm. Burial will be on Saturday, January 24, 2009 in Fairview Shellytown Cemetery, Williamsburg, PA at 12 noon. For directions and to express an online condolence, please visit www.strano-feeley.com.
