Wayne A. Campbell

After a long but strong battle with cancer, Wayne went home to be with his loved ones and God on May 15, 2012.

Wayne was born in Camden, NJ in 1960. Wayne lived in Wilmington for over 20 years with his lifelong partner Jeff and his best friend Brian whom he thought of as a brother. Wayne had many interests over the years. Wayne loved collecting Wizard of Oz stuff, Horror Movies, Tigger memorabilia along with a host of other stuff. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em, poker, roller skating, bowling, crossword puzzles and shopping. He did a lot of work with his partner in the theatre with building sets. When he was not helping his partner and friends he would just enjoy sitting back and listening to Cher, Judy Garland and Country Music.

Wayne loved to cook and worked in the culinary field for many years. He was a corporate trainer for Chi-Chi's, server for Cully Arts, H.A. Winston's, Best Western, Little Caesars, Take a Break, to name a few places, Wayne was also the manager of Cedar Tavern.

He was an active member of the Piedmont Lodge, where he loved to go play Bingo and socialize with his friends. Wayne loved to travel, going to the beach and long drives. Wayne was a person that loved life and would ensure that you were always the one who was the center of attention. He loved to be with his family and friends at a party, BBQ or just a gathering. He truly cherished his family and friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father William Campbell and brother David Campbell and Dorothy DiSabatino. He is survived by his partner Jeff; Brian, whom he considered a brother; his mother Edie Campbell; sisters Edie Campbell and Donna Snyder; nephew Chalie Snyder and his wife Jen; nieces Steph Snyder, Alysa Cantor and her husband Gabe, Kimberly Mayer; great-nieces and nephews, countless relatives along with friend,s whom he thought of dearly. He will also be missed by Adin, Bojangles, Cochise, Lugie and Gator, his beloved animals whom he cherished also.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, Delaware, DE 19713.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, DE, on Saturday morning, May 19 at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, prior to service, from 10-11 am.
