William ZEIT Obituary

Dr. William M. Zeit Age 67, of Lewes, DE died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes from complications of recent heart surgery. He was born May 11, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Irving and Henrietta Sattler Zeit. He attended Stuyvesent High School in Manhattan, was a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, MY, and the University of Geneva Switzerland School of Medicine. He had served in the U.S. Army Hospital in Ft. Gordon, GA in 1968 at the rank of major and later at the rank of lieutenant colonel in Saigon, Vietnam from 1969-1970. He also served at the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Delaware Army National Guard for many years. From 1972-1980, he was the pathologist at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He then attended Fitzgerald Mercy Medical Center in Darby, PA, where he completed an internal medicine residency in 1983. In 1983, he opened his own medical practice in internal and geriatric medicine on Long Neck Rd. in Millsboro, where he practiced until the time of his passing. He was a member of the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club since 1979, as well as many medical societies and associations. He is survived by his wife, Angela M. Zeit; 1 son, David Zeit; and 1 daughter, Linda Zeit, both of Baltimore, MD. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at the PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Hwy., Lewes, DE on Sunday, July 18, 2004, at 3 pm, where a reception of family and friends will be held from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Beebe Medical Center, 424 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958; or to a charity of your choice.
