Born in Wilmington, DE on August 13, 1958; departed this life October 4, 2016.
Yvette was raised in Wilmington and attended the Wilmington Public School System. She worked for the State of Delaware Childcare & Foster Care Division. She then moved to Pensacola, FL to work for the Escambia County School System. Her love for vulnerable populations, lead her to own and operate an assisted living facility for disabled adults.
Yvette was preceded in death by her parents, Elease V. Evans and Richard J. Evans; sister, Crystol D. Evans.
She lives to cherish her memories her fiancé, Carl L. Hicks; daughter, Konisha L. Thompson; sons, Cliffton T. Briscoe, Jr., Richard D. Jenkins, Jr., Dalton Donovan Miller, Dalton Dehenney Miller and a host of extended family and friends.
A service of celebration will be held 9 am Saturday, October 15, at People's Baptist Church, 50 South St.; New Castle, DE. Viewing from 8-9 am; with formal home going services to follow. Interment in Silverbrook Cemetery.

My dear mother...its been a little over a year and mom the pain of losing you is still the same...we think of you often and we always have the best stories to tell of the places weve been and memories we made...some birds arent meant to be caged, their feathers are to bright, and when they fly away the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up, does rejoice....I guess I just miss my friend, I guess I just miss my mom.....

We will miss you Ms. Honiee: as casemanagers who work with teens and young adults, we often coordinated with each other to provide care for those in the most need. You always showed such kindness and concern for everyone that was a part of your life. Our prayers go out to the family in this sad time.

My condolences to the family of Yvette Evans ,I know that its a difficult time for her Kids and grandkids that she loved so dear and other family members & friends.. Yvette was a mother, sister,caregiver, protector,and a friend to so many ,my heart is broken and I know only time can easy the pain ,but until then cherish the memories of this beautiful woman that has gone to soon.be blessed
