Alyce Johnson-Johnson Obituary

1937 - 2019 Alyce Johnson-Johnson entered into peaceful rest on January 2nd at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 21, 1937 to Theodore and Evelyn Johnson in Morton, PA. At the age of 14 she moved to Chester, PA. Alyce was educated in the Chester School District. Upon graduation she attended Harcum Jr. College and University of Maryland. She taught pre-school at Greater Chester Movement for 6 years. She also worked at Crozer Chester Medical Center for 35 years and retired in 2002. She was married to the late Paul Johnson. Alyce was an avid roller skater, who also loved ice skating, skiing, traveling, and going to the car shows. Alyce joined 1st Pentecostal Holy Church in 1995 where she sang on The Mass Choir and Nathaniel Gospel Chorus. She was also a member of The Shepard Care, Sunshine Band and Nurses Unit. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her son Paul; daughter, Evelyn; 4 grandsons, Paul, Rhasheem, Haakim Johnson & Keith Montgomery. Her aunt, Mae Cohen. A dear devoted companion George Waddell and two brothers, William and Melvin Johnson. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters, Carmen, Paula, Tina, Donna, and Charlotte Johnson all of Chester; her sister, Dorothy Brooks of Chester; her Godson, Keith Gantt of Philadelphia, PA; 16 grands, 12 great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Service on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at 1st Pentecostal Holy Church, 324 Pusey St. The public may view from 8-10 A.M at the church. Interment: Rolling Green Memorial Cemetery, West Chester, PA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to First Pentecostal Holy Church.
