Christopher Brighton Obituary
Avid Ice Hockey Player
Christopher M. Brighton, 22, of Glen Mills, formerly of Wallingford passed suddenly on Friday Jan. 7, 2011. Chris was raised in Wallingford and was a 2006 graduate of Strath Haven High School. Following high school he attended East Stroudsburg University and Delaware County Community College. His love of sports drew him to Ice Hockey and he played for the Wilmington Typhoon for 10 years, while also competing with the Strath Haven Ice Hockey Club. He enjoyed reading and exploring the history of his heritage in Ireland and planned the itinerary of a Family Vacation there, and was in the midst of planning a new visit this year. He was also known for his gentle personality for a man of his stature.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Thomas & Dorothy (nee Foltz) Brighton, Walter Coyle and Conrad Heffner, Uncle Joe Coyle.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving parents Thomas and Kathleen (nee Coyle) of Glen Mills, one brother Thomas of Media, grandmother Dorothy (nee McAneny) Heffner, of Drexel Hill, Aunts and Uncles Trudy and Michael Coffman, Michael and Cheryl Coyle, Michael and Colleen Treacy, Cindy Coyle, Tom and Donna Reilly and Stephen Coyle. Sixteen loving cousins and special friend Melissa DiSantis
Services: Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Contributions: The Family requests contributions in Chris's memory to Old Union Nursery School, 152 W. Rose Valley Rd, Rose Valley, PA 19086 or A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children, Cardiac Center, 1600 Rockland Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803

Chris, I am still at a loss for words over your passing. I had just spoken with you & you were so excited for me to turn 21! Trust me I celebrated for the both of us bud! I will never forget your kind words or your caring personality. You were the deffinition of a true best friend. I will never forget you as I still have letter you wrote me and pictures to reminisce, I love you Christopher Brighton. I will forever miss your presence & hope your looking down on me from above. love you!

Chris, you were a great teammate and better friend. You welcomed me when I first arrived at the Typhoon and always had my back on and off the ice. I will never forget the years we spent as line mates and all of the fun times in the locker room before and after games. My time with the Wimington Typhoon would not have been nearly as fun and enjoyable without you.

My deepest sympathy to the Brighton family. I haven't seen Chris in 13 years-when I was a TA at SRS and Chris was a student. I remember him as an energetic, sweet, always smiling and kind child. Looking at his picture it seems as though nothing has changed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To say Chris was an avid hockey player is only half true. Chris was big in size and big in heart. He was an excellent teammate, friend and linemate. Moving Chris Brighton out of the crease was like moving a mountain and he and I scored many of goals because of that fact. It was a comfort and a pleasure knowing Chris had my back for the four years when we were linemates. I know he'll be greatly missed.

I am sad to see that Chris passed away. He was a nice young man who i met at Crozer my prayers are with the family. Some of us live our lives like candles in the wind. He is at peace and with GOD.
