Chris, you were a great teammate and better friend. You welcomed me when I first arrived at the Typhoon and always had my back on and off the ice. I will never forget the years we spent as line mates and all of the fun times in the locker room before and after games. My time with the Wimington Typhoon would not have been nearly as fun and enjoyable without you.

My deepest sympathy to the Brighton family. I haven't seen Chris in 13 years-when I was a TA at SRS and Chris was a student. I remember him as an energetic, sweet, always smiling and kind child. Looking at his picture it seems as though nothing has changed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't know this handsome young man smiling out of the newspaper at me but wanted the family to know more people than you will ever know have been touched by him during his life. Here I was just touched by his smile. R.I.P and comfort to the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Brighton Family at this time of immense sadness. Having just experienced a similar event with our son Andrew, we pray that you will find peace and comfort in in each other and your many friends who will keep you close at this time and beyond. We remember Chris as a hard charging winger who was one of our son's favorite teamates on the Typhoon. We hope that the love, support and prayers you will receive help you persevere and keep Chris' spirit alive. With deepest sympathy,
Ann & John Laye

To say Chris was an avid hockey player is only half true. Chris was big in size and big in heart. He was an excellent teammate, friend and linemate. Moving Chris Brighton out of the crease was like moving a mountain and he and I scored many of goals because of that fact. It was a comfort and a pleasure knowing Chris had my back for the four years when we were linemates. I know he'll be greatly missed.
