David Nattress Obituary

1955-2016 David G. “Nifty” Nattress, 61, passed away on December 31, 2016. It was his heart that gave him up, despite him having the biggest heart in town. David was born in Ridley Park, Pa. and graduated from Interboro High School in 1973. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything and everything related to sports, which included a very up and down relationship with the Eagles. David worked with his hands in the art of cooking, roofing, construction, and could fix basically anything that was broken, or at least make it work for a period of time. David was preceded in death by his father, Cheney Nattress, Sr. and his brother, Gary Nattress. David is survived by his two children, Jason and Dana Nattress; his granddaughter, Savanna; his mother, Mary Nattress; his two brothers, William and Cheney “Bob” Jr. (Jeanne) Nattress; and his two sisters, Mariann Nattress and Judi (John) Piechule. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 5th, at 11 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074. There will be a visitation time on Thursday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M at the funeral home. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in his memory to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, Pa. 19104 would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to [email protected] Arrangements are by the Griffith Funeral Chapel in Norwood, Pa. www.griffithfuneralchapel.com

I'll never forget the time I let David use my car. I turned my back and he smashed it into the interboro high school steps. Backwards. I never told my parents that he did it. I took the blame. Many many years later, in my fifties, I told my family about that day and told them that David was actually the one who smashed the car. We all had a really good laugh! David was a good friend to me throughout the high school years. So sorry that he is gone so soon. Rest in peace my friend. I'll see you soon.
