David Orr Obituary

1982-2017 David Leslie Orr, age 34, passed away suddenly on June 8, 2017 following a long struggle with addiction. He was a passionate person who enjoyed spending time outdoors, and enjoying his favorite band Pantera. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and marched to the beat of his own drum. He was passionate, hard-working, and enjoyed his long truck drives and the solitude that came with it. He enjoyed traveling and seeing different parts of the country. Dave was kind, never mean-spirited or intentionally hurtful and as a child he was always “the thoughtful one.” He loved his nieces and nephews and always found time to play with them. He also took after his Dad and was inherently creative with his hands. Dave was living and working in Tyrone, Pa where he stayed after going through a drug treatment program and was very involved in Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. His parents and family did everything they could to help him but the addiction beat him in this life, but we know God triumphs in the next life. Dave is now at peace. As a youth Dave attended Prospect Park Grade School and Interboro High School. He excelled in football, soccer, baseball but his true passion was Extreme Rollerblading. Dave is survived by his cherished, one and only daughter, Leslie Anne. He was the beloved son of Margaret and Michael Orr, protective brother of Amanda and Rebecca Orr and loving and devoted brother to Bill Brown (Dawn) and Mike Brown. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends. There will be a Visitation on Wednesday, June 14th at 9:30am in St. Gabriel Church, 233 Mohawk Avenue, Norwood, PA 19074. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions would be appreciated in Dave’s memory to Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, 2785 Bald Eagle Pike, Tyrone, PA 16686, Phone (814) 684-5801

happy birthday dad, I love you, and I'll see you soon.

Dad, it's almost your birthday again, it's a big one. You'd be turning 40, and I miss you a lot. Things are getting crazy, I almost got put in a mental hospital a few days ago. I still write you letters sometimes, but it got to the point where I was crying every time I wrote to you because I knew you wouldn't be able to get them. The sunrise this morning really made me think of you, it's been a while since that's happened. I love you, and I hope you're having fun with Duke and Pop-Pop.

Dave was one of the hardest workers I had the pleasure of Managing and working with at AFR and I knew I could count on him getting the job done right the 1st time and faster than anyone else, whether it was local or required him to be gone for a week to ATL., he never said no. You will be sadly missed and always remembered.
