Dear Mr and Mrs. Oskin:
It was with great sadness that I read of your son's passing in the Philadelphia Inquirer. I only met him last year when you and he and I met outside the University Center on the day of the construction ceremony for your new building. I introduced myself and thanked you for your generosity and you introduced him and he came around the side of the car to shake hands. We chatted a little about his book publishing business and that as a librarian I have great admiraation for book publishers. He was very gracious as were you and we all went our separate ways. When I saw the name Oskin in the paper I naturally checked it out. I cannot imagine losing both sons. You must be very proud of them and their accomplishments. As a mother myself of three sons and a member of the Widener University community I extend my deepest sympathy and will keep you and your family in prayer.
Sincerely,
Teresa C. Cartularo

JoEllen and David-

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your son. I was reminded when I read your son's obituary in the Island Packet of your kindness when Jim Hardy died and your assistance to his wife, Luanne. I was the Club Administrator at Haig Point during that time and very close to both of the Hardys. I only hope you are surrounded with the same kindnesses during this very traumatic time in your life.

Warmest regards,

Paula and Nathan Zimmerman

To the Oskin Family,
I cannot begin to express my shock and sadness regarding Dave's passing. I had the privlege of working with Dave when he first started at Appleton Papers. He was bright, enthusiastic, creative, and fun loving. But what left the greatest impression on me was that he was a great person. I feel so fortunate to have known him and so sorry he has left us all too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Dave on a flight from Neenah to Colorado in October 2009. We ended up as seat buddies and talked non-stop the entire way. He told all about his daughters and how much he loved and cherished them. In two hours this man left such an impact on me that I have not forgotten him. I was shocked to read in the papers of his death. My deepest sympathies to the family.

He touched so many people in so many ways. Dave will be sorely missed. The world is a better place because of Dave. To Dave's beautiful daughters:please know you have an amazing guardian angel watching over you. Dave is so incredibly proud of both of you. Dave positively changed the trajectory of my and my family's life with his generosity and kindness, and humbled me with gratitude. Much like my own father, he was a man born for raising daughters and working with a gaggle of women. He is terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this unexplainable time of grief.
