Edward Ganster Obituary

Edward A. Ganster died peacefully at Crozer Chester Medical Center on February 11, 2017 in Chester, PA at the age of 58. Ed is survived by his wife Roxane Culbert, his daughters Lindsay (Bill) and Katie (Joel), his grandson William, his sister Mary Ganster Sloan (Richard) and his brother Robert Ganster (Eileen). He is preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Ganster and father, Leo Ganster. Ed was born on June 23, 1958 in Chester, PA to Blanche and Leo Ganster. He graduated from Chichester High School in ‘76. He married Roxane, his high school sweetheart in 1980. They raised their children in Boothwyn, PA and later moved to Wilmington, DE. He was a member of IBEW Local 654 and then later worked at Sun Oil and was presently employed at Braskem America. He was a volunteer firefighter for Reliance Fire Company along with being a member of the American Legion Post # 951, Delaware Veterans Post #1 and enjoyed services at Immaculate Conception and Capuchin Friars Friary. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, February 15th from 6 to 8pm at Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook, PA and again on Thursday, February 16th from 10 to 11am followed by funeral mass at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer Center.

Rest in peace; Ed Ganster. I worked for Ed at Sunoco and retired. In forty years as an electrician, I never worked for a more fair man. Very sorry to hear of the passing of Eddie. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. I always admired and respected him as well as Mary and Bobby, all of whom were my neighbors growing up on Kingsman Rd. I also remember their parents Blanch and Leo and cousin Billy and family who lived around the corner. My condolences to all and Roxanne and family. Eddie will be sorely missed!
