James J. Forde

James J. Forde, 85 James J. Forde, 85, died Nov. 3 at his home in Wallingford. Mr. Forde was the son of James and Catherine Richmond. He graduated from St. Michael's School and St. James High School Class of '46. He served in the Army and then earned an Associates Degree from Penn State University. Mr. Forde worked as a supervisor in the space division of General Electric. He owned and operated Aston Sporting Goods from 1970 until his retirement in 1988. He volunteered at St. John Chrysostom Church and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society there. He loved golf and making furniture. He was a member of Beckett Country Club. He was a deeply devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors: His wife of 61 years Jane (nee McDermott) of Wallingford, his children Maureen (Fitz) Duer of Ocean City, NJ, Eileen (Jim) Fanelli of Rochester, NY, Brian (Beth) of Berwyn, Patricia (Peter) O'Kane of Wallingford, Michael (Vivian) of Lake Mary, FL, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 11:00a.m., in St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford. Friends may call after 10 a.m. at the Church. Int.: Private.
