Janet Segree Obituary

Janet Segree, 60 A wonderful lady with a beautiful smile Janet Segree, 60, quietly passed into peace on August 17, 2012. She was born in Camden NJ and raised in Chester PA where she attended Chester Public Schools, graduating from Chester High School in the class of 1971. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served on various ministries until her health failed. She was formerly employed as a Case Worker at Concord Day Care Center. Ms. Segree was pre-deceased by her father Lacy Compton, god-Parents who raised her William and Elnora Birt and a brother Winston Segree. Survivors: She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory her mother Serena Nelson; daughter LaNoana Odom; son-in-law Elder James Christine Henly Odom; a faithful devoted companion of 40 years Henry Elam Jr.; 2 grandchildren Breon Segree (Shameela) and Sharna Pettiford; great-grandchildren Caila, Tianna, Maliki, Alexcia, Ja`Mea and Breon II; 9 sisters and brothers; a host of other relatives and special friends. Service Saturday August 25, 2012 at 10 AM Shiloh Baptist Church, 7th & Central Aves., Chester, PA. Viewing 8 to 10 AM at the church. Interment Lawncroft Cemetery. Arr: Earl L. Condolences To The Entire Family,
Thank you for sharing Ms. Janet with the 1800 block of 6th Street. She was a very good neighbor who always had a pleasant greeting for us and many of wonderful conversations on the porch. Our children loved her and she was always showed love & concerned for our family. She will be GREATLY MISSED!

I've know Janet for most of my life. She was one of my sister's, Wanda Mann's best friend. She was always so pleasant and just a all around nice person. She will be missed.

To Noana, Bird and Family,

OH what a time, OH WHAT A TIME Janet and I had at Concord Day Care Center! When you say the name "Janet Segree" the first thing that should pop up in your head is that beautiful smile and her love for butterflies. I don't know what I am going to do now the day after Thanksgiving because every year faithfully I would receive my FIRST holiday Christmas card from Janet! Janet will be greatly missed. She is in a better place now and my prayers are with the family.

To the LaNoana Family,
I went to Delaware Cty. Community College with Janet many years ago. One thing I never forgot was her beautiful spirit that radiated through that smile. She was such a wonderful positive person. Know that she is with God and she is smiling.
