Jean L. O'Connor

Jean L. O'Connor of Brookhaven Jean L. O'Connor, 81, of Brookhaven, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of the late Francis X. O'Connor with whom she shared 23 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Anna M. Schwab Lathlaen. She graduated with a BA in Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University in 1953. Jean was self-employed as a writer and artist. She completed more than 300 commissioned portraits of people's pets and her artwork was displayed in the Gold Room at the Easton Waterfowl Festival. She owned and operated Action Writing and Resume Service in Media. In her younger years, she showed dogs and horses including the Westminster Dog show at Madison Square Garden. Jean was an avid dog lover and enjoyed helping others and spending time with her friends and family. Survivors: Her children, Thomas R. O'Connor (Cara Dyson) of West Chester, Anne O'Connor DiLorenzo (Anthony) of Auburn, brother, Robert F. Lathlaen of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren; David, Robert, Kevin and Erin DiLorenzo and three nieces. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Joseph F. O'Connor.
