Jean Staton

Jean (Filip) Staton, age 88, a resident of Glen Mills, PA, since 1954, died Monday, February 5, 2018. Jean was employed with Edgewood Memorial Park for 32 years, until retiring as a cemetery supervisor in 1990. She also worked as a voting machine operator for Thornbury Township. Jean was a member of the Redwood Senior Club, Swin’ Country Dancers and Delaware County Master Gardeners. Mrs. Staton was generous with her time. Jean volunteered at the Tyler Arboretum, Neighborhood Hospice of Chester County, Chester County Hospital ER and the Helicopter Museum. Most of all, Jean cherished spending time with her family. Daughter of the late Karol and Caroline Filip; Wife of the late Walter C. Staton, mother of the late David W. Staton and sister of the late John Phillips. Survivors: Loving Daughter and Son in Law: Laurie & Kit Murdock, Daughter-in-Law: Lynn Pierce, Sister: Joan Peters, Grandchildren: Carl, Nicholas, Travis, Kristen, Andrea, Kaitlin and Karoline, Great-Grandchildren: Chloe, Cyrus, Walter, Oliver and Benjamin, Also survived by nieces.
