Joseph Tancredi Obituary

Joseph M. Tancredi Joseph M. Tancredi, age 60, died December 9, 2012 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland. Joseph was raised in Ridley Township and a 1970 graduate of Ridley High School. He has lived in Eddystone for the past 3 years. Joe was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office and owned and operated Tancredi's Steaks and Hoagies. He also worked for many years at Phil & Jim's in Parkside, as well as several painting contractors in Delaware County. Joseph was an avid golfer and he enjoyed traveling and vacations. He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Joseph was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Eddystone. He was the son of the late Vincent and Marie I. (Palma) Tancredi and the brother of the late William Breeze and Giselda Tancredi Henderson. Survivors: His former wife and best friend Cheryl Gill; his children Joshua Tancredi, Vincent Scibello, Jennifer Shockley and Tara Scibello; his brothers Guy (Jean), Michael, and Mark (Trish) Tancredi; his sister Marion Cimino; also survived by 6 grandchildren. Joe was dearly loved by all his nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday from 7 to 9 PM and Saturday from 8:15 to 9 AM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, PA. Mass Saturday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022. Burial Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the above church.

So sad to hear the news of Joey's passing. I have a ton of great memories from growing up, parties at Aunt Marie' pool, and mostly from working at the hoagie shop! I was little and Joey and my Dad would grab my arms and legs to "stretch" me, I guess it worked!

Joey was a wonderful cousin to all! He was always upbeat and positive no matter what he was going through. He had a contagious laugh that seemed to resinate whenever he was in a room. He was loving, caring and giving.

Joe was a great friend to Mike Niemark and myself. He came to California to help us start Big Mike's Philly cheese steaks and subs.
