Marianne Traband

1957 - 2022

Marianne Traband, 65, of Swarthmore, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Pennsylvania Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 15, 1957 in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Regina (Quinn) Petrone. Marianne grew up in Norwood, PA where she attended St. Gabriel School and later Archbishop Prendergast High School. She and her husband Pat moved to Ridley Township where they raised their family. Marianne most recently worked as a teacher’s aide at Ridley Middle School before retiring to babysit her beloved grandchildren. Marianne loved to spend time with her family at backyard pool parties and down the shore. She also loved taking her dog Ranger for walks and was an avid Villanova basketball fan. Her quick wit, sense of humor and genuine personality will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother Robert Petrone. Survivors include her husband Patrick Traband, her daughter Kristen McKenna (Ryan), sons Patrick and Brian Traband, grandchildren Clare, Kerry, Kathleen and Conor McKenna, sisters Patricia Petrone and Jean Diehl (Mike), and brother Joseph Petrone, In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Delaware County SPCA. Family and friends are invited to attend Marianne’s viewing from 8:30 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood.
