Michael Gera

Michael Gera, 89 Michael Gera, 89, died December 17, 2011 at Maris Grove in Glen Mills. He was raised in the Woodlyn section of Ridley Twp., graduated from Ridley High School and attended PMC, Chester. Michael owned and operated Gera's Caf in Norwood for more than 30 years, retiring in 1985. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army 85th Infantry Division. He was wounded in Italy. Michael went on to be awarded 5 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Michael was an avid golfer at Springhaven Country Club and a Philadelphia Sports Fan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 507 and VFW Post 7213, Norwood. Michael was the son of the late Michael and Elsie Gera; brother of the late Steven Gera and Geniveve Verratti. Survivors: Michael is survived by his sons Michael (Martha) Gera and David (Debra) Gera; his brother Edward Gera; grandchildren Michael (Jennifer) Gera and Adrienne (Nick) Millili; great-grandchildren Vincent and Ava Rose Millili.
