Phyllis Park Obituary

Phyllis Turkington Park, 75 Of Aldan Phyllis Turkington Park, 75, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on February 1, 2012. Phyllis was a generous, caring woman, a devoted wife to Robert for over 52 years, a loving mother to her children, a doting grandmother and great grandmother, duties which extended well beyond her family. With always a listening ear and welcome arms, she was a friend to anyone in need. Reunited in Heaven with her parents Albert and Catherine Turkington and her infant son Robert H. Jr. Phyllis was born and raised in S.W. Philadelphia, went to school at Bartram High. She met Robert in High School, started dating at a church gathering and they soon were married. They moved to Aldan PA in 1965 where she was involved first at Sherwood Pres and the past 40 years at Aldan Union. She volunteered both at church and at the Aldan Elementary School as a homeroom mom for 24 years and as a band booster. She worked selflessly behind the scenes. She enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ and the Catskills in NY with her family. She loved to read, keep in touch with little notes and watch her children and grandchildren at every event. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Survivors: Legacy left behind - children Robin Lowery (Scott) of Aldan, David Park (Debbie) of Secane, June Panico (Frank) of Springfield, Bob Park (Jen) of Yeadon, and Dan Park (Sarah) of Collingdale; grandchildren Nicole Wehmeyer (Bill), Christie Park, John Thomas, Ashley, Alexa and Frank Panico, Caitlin and Rob Lowery, Elizabeth and Claire Park; 1 great-grandchild Anabell Wehmeyer; sisters Mary Paul (Archie) of Woodlyn and Floss Herman (Jack) of Coatesville. Memorial Service 11 AM Tuesday at Aldan Union Church, 7 E. Providence Rd., Aldan, PA. Visitation with the family in church 9:30 to 11 AM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Ste. 101, West Chester, PA 19382 or the Aldan Union Church Missionary Fund in her memory.
