Stephen James Washkalavitch

Stephen “Steve” James Washkalavitch passed away with his loving family by his side on February 28, 2022, while on vacation outside of Delray Beach, Florida. He was 68. Steve was born on February 22, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents John and Rose Washkalavitch. He graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1973. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Karen F. (nee Binder) Washkalavitch in 1975. Steve’s greatest joy came from being with family. He was passionate about the music of his young adult years and attending live music events; Steve instilled that passion in his sons. He was an avid sports fan and cherished watching his kids and grandchildren play hockey over the years. Steve also loved to travel with his family and spent some of his most relaxing days on the golf course with his friends, brothers, and sons. Steve is survived by his beloved wife Karen; father-in-law Charlies F. Binder; son Stephen B. (Amanda), and grandsons Kyle and Colton Washkalavitch; son Charles B. (Alison); sister Rosemary (Paul) Myers; brother Jack (Kay) Washkalavitch; brother Joseph (Jennifer) Washkalavitch; brother Michael (Patricia) Washkalavitch; and countless members of multiple Washkalavitch and Binder generations. A Memorial will take place on Friday, March 11th at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Visitation hours are from 9:00 - 10:30 AM, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass.
