Theresa Mellon

1936 - 2020

Theresa B. Mellon of Briarcliffe, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on December 18, 2020. Theresa was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Agnes (McDonald) Boyle. Theresa worked for Bell Telephone before staying home to raise her 4 children. She was very involved in their school activities and lovingly picked them up at lunchtime each day to have lunch together at home with her. She was very devoted to her family and called Mom by many other friends as well. After her children were grown, she was excited to go back to work and was her son-in-law’s, Rick, first employee in 1988. She continued to work for Rick and KDI for another 29 years until her retirement at the age of 80. She worked tirelessly as the company grew and many of the employees called her Mom. She was well known for sending cards to everyone that touched her life for birthdays, get well, sympathy and holidays. She also was a devout Catholic who was always adding many names to her prayer list. Terry loved spending her retirement with her husband enjoying lunch, dinner and drives about town. She will forever be cherished as a loving Wife, Mom, Mommom, aunt and friend. Theresa was a 1956 graduate of West Catholic. Theresa was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William Francis Mellon. She is survived by her four children, Patti (late Tom) Germanovich of Glenolden, Jeannie Pepper of Collingdale, Terry (Rick) Salcedo of Media and Bill (Elaine) Mellon of Collingdale. Terry was the proud Mommom of 17 grandchildren, Monika (Tony) Smythe, Jimmy (Ashley) Pepper, Tommy (Devon) Germanovich, Mark (Sarah) Germanovich, Mandee (Javier) Mayan, Kevin (Melissa) Salcedo, Erik Germanovich(Stephanie), Corrine (TJ) DeLany, Tina (Joe) Mulholland, Linda (Bob) Furia, Kyle (Theresa) Pepper, Karl Germanovich, Juliet Pepper, Theresa Salcedo, Dylan Pepper, Will Mellon and Joe Mellon (fiancé Lilith). Theresa was the Mommom to 22 great grandchildren, Kylie Mayan, Dean Pepper, Dominic and Bella Smythe, Dimitri Germanovich, Chloe Pepper, Ryan Mulholland, Braydon Pepper, Nina Germanovich, Lucy Salcedo, Jack Mulholland, Xavier Janney, Kevin Mulholland, Adam Germanovich, Rae Salcedo, Matilda Germanovich, Simon Germanovich, Hayden Pepper, Lily Furia, Henry Germanovich, Joey Mulholland and Joanna Mellon. She is predeceased by herbrother Joseph Boyle, and sisters Betty Scully, Veronica DiMarco and Agnes Lord. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Tuesday, December 22, 2020 10am Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr. Secane, PA 19018. Due to the current pandemic face masks are required and social distancing to be observed in the Church. A Celebration of her Life will be at a later date.
