Thomas Ford Obituary

1933-2016 Thomas S. Ford, Sr. of Prospect Park, PA passed away on August 7, 2016. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and was employed for many years with ISS Janitorial Services. Tom had a love for all of the Philadelphia Sports teams, especially the Phillies. He truly loved and never missed attending his 2 son’s football and baseball games. He was a regular at his grandchildren’s football and basketball games at Exeter and Springfield High School for the past several years. During basketball season he could always be seen at the Springfield High school gym cheering on the basketball team. If you were lucky enough to be next to him at dinner you were asked trivia of the actors, actresses and singers from the 50s, 60s and 70s. He knew them all. At night he loved relaxing to Frank Sinatra or Fox News. Mr. Ford was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy P. Ford; his son, Thomas S. Ford, Jr. and his grandsons, Robert T. Ford, Jr. and Ryan M. Ford. He is survived by his children, Robert T. Ford, Sr. (Kellie) and Diane P. Carpenter (Dave); his grandchildren, Danielle M. Ford (Zack), David Carpenter, Sean Carpenter, and Matt Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Bella, Julia, Avery, Presley, Harper, and Jack. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Friday, August 12, 2016 at 9:30am, O’Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064. His Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
