Tomas J. Daniel

Tomas J. Daniel 1973 - 2011 Tomas J. Daniel, 37, of Havertown, PA, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, after complications from his battle with cancer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, including multiple deployments - most recently to Iraq in 2007 and 2008. He was a member of the staff and a graduate of Villanova University. He attended Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City, MD, where he met his beloved wife, Colleen. Tom's hobbies and interests - from playing soccer and fishing to restoring his wife's classic MG and helping develop a unique variation of backgammon - were as diverse as the hundreds of friends who mourn his loss. Tom faced his fight with cancer with the same unapologetic mix of grit and humor that marked his life. He arrived at his chemo sessions attired in custom t-shirts with sayings like: "Chemo! All the cool kids are doing it!". Survivors: Husband to Colleen H. (Cooney) Daniel and proud father of Arthur and Patrick, he is survived by his immediate family, including his mother, Ann Guanella; father, Paul Daniel; sister, Emily Daniel: and his grandmother, Phyllis Daniel. In addition, Tom will be dearly missed by his parents-in-law Constance and Robert Cooney of Ellicott City; his siblings-in-law Steve and Teresa Culfogienis and Kathleen Cooney.
