Ralph Gervasio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home - Hamilton on Feb. 2, 2026.
Ralph Anthony (aka "Tony") Gervasio

Born in Morrisville, PA. Son of pre deceased parents Neil (Aniello) and Rose (nee Aversano) Gervasio. Survived by a brother, Dominick (Don), sister-in-law, Mary and 4 nieces, Michelle (nee Gervasio) Staples and husband Benjamin and their 2 children Gianna Rose and Adilyn; niece Angela (nee Gervasio) Rivello and husband Carmen and their 2 children Scarlett Rosina and Luca; niece Lori (nee Miller) Height and husband Howard and their 2 children Amelia and Vivian and niece Jennifer Miller & many, many dear and loving cousins, relatives and dear friends.

At a young age Ralph's family moved to Trenton where he also lived for many years. He relocated to Hamilton Square, NJ after he was honrably discharged from the military. Ralph as a youth, attended St Joachim's parochial grammar school in Trenton, NJ and was awarded a full 4-year High School Academic Scholarship by the Holy Name Society to attend tuition free 4 years at Trenton Catholic High School. Upon graduating from high school, Trenton Catholic High school awarded Ralph an academic scholarship to attend Villanova University. He successfully graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Engineering. After graduating from Villanova University he was inducted into the U.S Air Force as a commissioned officer. While in the Air Force, he actively served his compulsory 4 years, where he had been assigned to Air Defense Command, including serving with the 35th Nuclear Missile Squadron. After his 4 year compulsory military service, he opted to leave the military service and return to civilian life. He was then granted an Honorable Discharge with a "secret clearance" which made him an attractive asset to many military project oriented companies. He immediately was hired by the RCA Space Center in Princeton, NJ as a Design and Development Engineer. During his many years at the RCA Aerospace Center, he remained in the inactive Air Force reserves, and was later given a deferment from any further active and inactive reserve military duty, based on his civilian employment involved with secret military related engineering design projects.

After a huge layoff at the RCA Space Center, he was then hired by Heinemann Electric as a Research and Development Engineer. Later he was recruited by Brown Bovary in Philadelphia, PA as a plasma energy' Research and Development Engineer. He was later employed at Kingsbury Inc. for over 20 years as a Senior Design Engineer. While there, he was assigned responsibility as Project Engineer for all foreign European and Asian military and hydroelectric dam projects, including designing bearings for the French aircraft carrier Charles DeGaule, and also bearings for China's massive Great Gorge Dam project, just to highlight a few! After over 20 years at Kingsbury Inc, Ralph finally retired to care for his then ailing father, until his father passed away at the age of 97.

As a military veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 31 located here in Hamilton Township. He is also a member of the VFW. Professionally, he also was a member of ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASLE, American Society of Lube Engineers and NYAS, the New York Academy of Sciences. He is also listed in the Who's Who' registry of Engineers.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 10:00 AM TO 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State St. Ext., Hamilton, NJ.
