POWELL — Charles "Chuck" R. Johnson, Jr., age 66, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in Powell, Ohio. He was born on February 8, 1955, to Charles R. Johnson, Sr. and Martha Jean (Shaffer) Johnson, who preceded him in death.
Chuck was a graduate of Dublin High School, Class of 1973. He was also a graduate of The Ohio State University, School of Architecture, Class of 1977. During his long career as a general contractor, he renovated and remodeled dozens of homes throughout Central Ohio, including large additions to homes in Dublin and Upper Arlington.
Chuck is remembered as a mentor to many, having served for several years as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 185 in Dublin. He was the driving force behind a number of ambitious and memorable outings, including a canoeing trip to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and a backpacking trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, boating, snow and water skiing, and attending vintage car shows.
Along with his father, Chuck was a member of Aladdin Shrine Temple. He was also a longtime member of Liberty Presbyterian Church.
Chuck is survived by his son, Christopher F. Johnson, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sister, Janet B. McMahon, of Chillicothe, Ohio.
Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey R. Johnson. Chuck's ashes will be scattered at Lake Erie, joining those of his brother.

Only reading about this now and am belatedly very saddened. Chuck was a quiet spoken, and effective leader of our Troop 185. The time he devoted mentoring our scouts, and especially helping my sons become Eagle Scouts, is forever appreciated.
