Dalia "Dolly" Bermudez age 97 of Delaware, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware, Ohio.
She was born on May 11, 1926, in Tampa, Florida to the late Jose and Laura (Hernandez) Mira. South Florida was home most of her life where she owned her own hair salon for over 20 years. After a career change, she worked as a secretary at the Dade County School Board where she retired in 1993. In 2012 she moved to Delaware, Ohio after spending a few years in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Dolly was very active and loved the Willow Brook Community. She participated in art class, played dominoes, euchre, billiards, bingo, and participated in Bible studies. She was well known there for her fashion sense and healthy appetite, especially her love of Cuban food. Locally she had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware, Ohio.
Dolly had a passion for dancing in her younger years, especially Latin-style rumba and samba. She adored chihuahuas including her beloved pets Chi Chi, Chili, and Cosita. A woman who always knew what she wanted, she was the epitome of strength, independence, and determination. She lived life her way, with passion, and will be remembered for her love for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Victoria "Vicky" (Phil) Grubbs of Delaware, Hector (Susan) Medina of South Carolina; grandchildren: Ana Felicia Vogel, Danielle Medina, Jessica Chapman, Jonathan Grubbs, Kristine Bryson, Mathew Vogel, Kandi Vogel, Nikki Fellows, Carly Grubbs; great-grandchildren: Jacob and Madeline Chapman, Logan Bryson, Brianna and Lindsey Fellows, Wyatt and Emma Vogel.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Baldomero Bermudez in 2012, sons Frederick Vogel and Richard Medina, as well as her brother Edward Mira, and sisters Gloria Monroy and Zulema Mira.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19th, 2024, in the Terrace Room of Willow Brook Christian Village, 100 Willow Brook Way S., Delaware, Ohio 43015 with Rev. Jennifer Eastman Hinkle officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Snyder Rodman Funeral Center of Delaware.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church Delaware, Ohio or Heartland Hospice.
